16 Kentucky Trucker Kentucky Trucking Association T his past week, September 11 th -13 th , 2019, the Kentucky Trucking Association announced the 2019 recipient of the state’s “ Professional Driver of the Year. ” This association chose Mr. Tony Stinnett from Usher Transport, Inc. A familiar name, especially within the tank-truck indus- try, Mr. Stinnett was selected as one of eight finalists in the 2019 NTTC Professional Tank-Truck Driver of the Year. Mr. Stinnett is an owner-operator leased to Usher Transport, Inc. and is based at the company’s Paducah, Kentucky terminal. Tony has an incredible record with Usher Transport for more than 45 years to date. Tony joined Usher Transport, Inc. on Christmas Eve in 1974. He was personally hired by the late William A. Usher, Sr., the patriarch of the 73-year-old company based in Louisville, Ken- tucky. Tony has 5.25 million accident-free miles. Of those, just over 5 million of those miles have been solely with Usher Transport, Inc. Tony and his wife, Lori, are heavily involved in their local commu- nity charities, raising money and collecting toys throughout the year for Christmas events throughout their area.
